Honda Summer Party
Honda’s Summer Party hosted over 5,000 people in the splendid grounds of Bowood House. Startech was recruited to provide technical management of the central entertainment in a Big Top tent. The 40’ x 72’ stage constructed on uneven grass (18:1 slope) inside the Big Top proved to be a feat of engineering as the specifications were less than 1mm rise or fall over 2m to accommodate Asimo the Robot.
Once Asimo had successfully performed the Startech Crew faced a tight time limit to turn the set around for the evening performance. Within an hour and three quarters half of the stage was disassembled creating space for dancers, fire performers, a trapeze artist who was suspended from our trusses and the bands and DJ sound checks were completed.
The spectacular performances were enthusiastically received and Startech have since worked on a technical festival and the Circle Convention in Genève among others for Honda.
