Roy - Managing Director
Prompted by a primary interest in audio, Roy's career began with school productions and Drama clubs leading to a Theatre Technician position with Donmar Group in Covent Garden. Prior to the introduction of Startech in 1998, Roy worked for the London City Ballet, Last Resort for Channel 4 and the BBC Children's Royal Variety Show and many other productions. He launched Startech with the intention of providing a service to cover every aspect of technical production. In the past 13 years Startech have produced sets for large events including the Completion Ceremony of St Pancras International station, Olympic Bid Meetings and Global Road shows for BP to name just a few.
Shanks - Technical Manager
With 30 years experience in technical production, Shanks has accompanied internationally renowned bands on world tours and managed live events venues. Plasa NRC2 qualified rigger.
Simon - Operations Manager
Simon began working in live entertainment at the age of 14 after helping in an amatuer pantomime that his younger sister was in. Since then he has worked at venues in Torbay, Liverpool & Spain before finally settling in Oxford as Stage Manager at the New Theatre. Simon joined Startech in 2011 and is likely to be your first point of contact with the company.
Les - Set & Stage Construction
Previously a supervisor at a steel fabrications company Les joined Startech nine years ago, he has since travelled to various countries in Europe creating ideal environments for corporate conferences. Throughout the UK he has constructed impressive settings for events such as product launches, exhibitions and live performances.
Grebe - Lighting & Sound Technician
Grebe has worked for Startech since 2006 as a freelance technician and in 2011 joined us full time. Prior to this he has a theatre background and has been chief electrician at the New Theatre and the Oxford Playhouse.
Chris - Assistant Technician
On completion of a Level 2 Diploma in Music Technology and with experience of sound engineering for local events in Woodstock, we are very please to be welcoming Chris to the team.
