Profile Lighting
The profile lantern is used where a sharp beam of light is required without spill. Ideal for front of house position, overstage gobo protection or low level cross light. They allow precise control of the beam, which can be focused to a hard edge or softened as required. Profiles can either have fixed or variable beam angles. They are equipped with beam shaping shutters and an optical gate, which can take either an 'iris' to reduce beam size, or a 'gobo' for projecting images and patterns. As with all StarTech lighting equipment a colour frame is supplied free of charge and a coloured filter can be provided, cut to size and installed for a small additional cost. Flood Lighting
The floodlight is the most basic luminaire. It consists of simply a lamp and a reflector - the beam size, shape and quality of the floodlight is fixed. The result is an uncontrolled, general wash of light. There are two principal types: symmetrical and asymmetrical. Asymmetrical floodlights give an evenly distributed wash of light when positioned close to the top of a cyc. Symmetrical floods, on the other hand, are more suited to general use, such as lighting door and window backings. Barndoors are available for some units to control unwanted spill.
